A Professional Training in Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy
At the International College for Personal and Professional Development (ICPPD), we combine training in traditional counselling methods with leading-edge Transpersonal Relational Depth Psychology. The development of self awareness is central to this training.
This programme recognises that your inner-life and outer-encounters provide a continuous path for lifelong learning.
Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy regards human difficulties as opportunities for growth and development. Each client within the counselling setting is seen as a unique being carrying within them the wisdom and freedom to choose their own direction. At ICPPD we locate the psychosocial issues of individuals within the context of their family, social and global systems.
About the Programme
The main aim of this Professional Diploma in Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy is to provide adult learners with the opportunity to explore and develop their interest in the field of holistic counselling and psychotherapy, and to thereby develop into competent professional practitioners.
The programme invites, supports, and challenges trainee counsellors to engage with transformative counselling for body, mind and spirit. The development of self reflective awareness brings change, and inner change leads to outer change.
At ICPPD we believe in seeking new ways of relating to ourselves and others in a time where discontinuity, alienation, and a lack of meaning in people’s lives are creating crisis, disease and discontent. From this quest for knowledge arises a hunger for transformative experience.
The programme brings a unique perspective and unites two main applications of holism usually viewed in isolation, namely
- a grounded understanding of the physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of the human being, and
- the ongoing development of self knowledge, in which the counsellor is viewed as an instrument of the therapeutic encounter.
The holistic focus at ICPPD suggests a qualitative evolution arising from an integration of experience that results in greater creativity and spiritual growth.
Who should consider our diploma course?
- Health professionals and human services providers such as doctors, complementary medical therapists, nurses, teachers, gardaí, allied health professionals, ambulance officers, solicitors and others who are interacting with the public daily and wish to improve their interpersonal skills
- Any person who wants to expand and deepen their communication skills to enhance their current professional and personal life
- Persons who wish to embark on a career in counselling and psychotherapy
- Those who seek a high level of skills which are effective in stimulating and supporting transformative change and community building
